This Extremely Rare piece bears one of the most full and pleasing 1715 dates I have personally seen from the wreck. This special cob features a royal die used on the reverse (cross side) and a perfectly struck and bold 1715 date on the obverse. This piece has special provenance being a consignment from the Real Eight co. to Christensen auction house. Maintaining its original tag and lot number with the catalog avalaible online. This piece also has the speciality of being fully dated, studies show that partially dated coins only making up around 2% of the wrecks population, fully dated coins make up roughly less than 1% of coins from the 1715 Fleet. With that said, mexico mint cobs with a full date like this one statistically are a decimal of a percent when it comes to the population of coins on the wreck. This combonation of rarity both in origin, condition, and strike makes for a one of a kind piece.

Maintains original Christensen Auction Tag with info. Includes CCB Certificate of Authenticity summarizing provenance and tag info.
